Mitchell Marsh’s Under-19 credentials are noteworthy. He led Australia to glory in the 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup making 201 runs at an average of close to 34 which included a 97 in the semi-final win over Sri Lanka. He hit a breakthrough Sheffield Shield century in the 2010-11 season before making his international debut in memorable style, smashing four sixes in a quick-fire 36 in a T20 against South Africa. He later took 17 wickets in the 2011-12 Sheffield Shield season and began the 2012-13 campaign well before suffering a serious hamstring injury. However, Marsh returned with a superb century in the Ryobi Cup against Tasmania before winning a call-up to Australia's 2013 Champions Trophy squad. He continued his recovery at the 2013 Indian Premier League, smashing 140 runs – including six fours and 10 sixes - and taking seven wickets from his nine matches for Pune Warriors India.
