The first Captain of the Perth Scorchers, North is one of the most experienced, respected and tactically astute players in Australian cricket. North was a key member of the team which qualified for the inaugural KFC T20 BIG FINAL last season, which enabled the Scorchers to claim a place in the upcoming Champions League T20 tournament in South Africa. The skipper proved an ideal foil for fellow opener Herschelle Gibbs at the top of the order in the BBL, scoring 273 runs at 39, which included two half-centuries; and his strike-rate was a respectable 120.26 runs per 100 balls.
