Born in Coffs Harbour, Joe is another of the talented players to emerge from country New South Wales. A tall right-arm paceman, he moved to South Australia in the 2011 winter searching for greater opportunities and was one of the most impressive first year players in Australian domestic cricket last summer. Joe played six first-class and four one-day matches for the Redbacks, including a Bupa Sheffield Shield match at the WACA Ground where he took 7/96 against the Warriors. That performance brought him to the attention of the Scorchers hierarchy, who immediately signed him up to replace the injured Mark Cameron for the BBL. Unfortunately a groin and hip injury suffered on the eve of the tournament ruled him out of Scorcher action.
