CLT20 debut 2012

The West Australian right-arm paceman has spent his life pushing for cricketing greatness, having represented his state at Under-17 and Under-19 level and his country in three one-day internationals in the latter age group. Coulter-Nile pounced on an opportunity with his state side, the Warriors, after being upgraded from a rookie contract and has not looked back, having taken 87 wickets from his 23 first-class matches. Coulter-Nile was deadly with the ball in the inaugural KFC T20 Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers, finishing the team’s third-highest wicket-taker with 10 for the season, despite missing the opening two games with injury. The 25-year-old began to emerge as a genuine all-rounder a year later and was named Man of the Match for a 23 not out from just six balls in a crucial win over Brisbane Heat, leading to his national selection in Australia’s T20 clash against the West Indies and his later inclusion in the 2013 Champions Trophy squad. Coulter-Nile’s rising form had the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals baulk at his reserve price of USD 100,000 for the 2013 Indian Premier League, engaging in a bidding war that resulted in the Mumbai franchise bag him for USD 450,000. He played a solitary game for them in IPL 2013 and picked up a wicket.
