Profile

Birth Date 09 June 1984
Country Australia
CLT20 debut 2012

His surname was celebrated by media editors and headline-writers everywhere when he burst onto the national scene a couple of years ago. Beer has taken 25 wickets from his 26 Twenty20 career matches and has brought that talent to the Perth Scorchers for the past two years, standing as the side’s most economical bowler in the past with 10 wickets at 21.3 with an economy rate of 5.91. The man known as “Frosty” was a late bloomer as far as Australia duties were concerned, going from Western Australia debut to his first selection for the national XI within five first-class games. Beer was awarded his Baggy Green in January, 2011, for Australia’s fifth Test of the Ashes series in Sydney. He took the wicket of Paul Collingwood in his 38 overs at the tight economical rate of 2.94. Injury hindered the second-half of his 2012/13 season, but Beer remains WA’s front-line spinner as he pushes for a national recall, having captured 70 wickets in his 28 first-class matches for the Warriors.
