He has gone through his fair share of ups and downs, but Harbhajan Singh is all set to embark on a new phase in his career. His transition from a fiery teenager to composed senior will be crucial to his development as a cricketer. 'Bhajji', as he is fondly called, is India's most successful off-spinner and a bowler batsmen hate to play. After a disappointing first season in IPL, Harbhajan bounced back in style in South Africa, picking up 12 wickets at an economy rate of under six. Then with the IPL 2010 back in India, the Sardar from Jalandhar picked up the second highest number of wickets in the tournament, a distinction he jointly shared with Amit Mishra of the Delhi Daredevils. While his wicket tally was modest in the 2011 CLT20, the feisty spinner captained the Mumbai Indians to the title in the absence of the injured Sachin Tendulkar. His aggressive leadership impressed the owners and he was handed over the reins of the team in IPL 2012 when Tendulkar stepped down from the helm.
