Murali Vijay is Chennai through and through. The right hander completely redefined himself during IPL 2010 with some impressive displays of power-hitting right at the top for CSK. Known for his technique and poise at the crease, Vijay was drafted into the Indian Test team in 2008 against a daunting Australian side and gave good account of himself in his very first outing. A clean hitter of the ball, Vijay posses the gift of timing and that was well demonstrated during his record-breaking knock of 127 against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2010. He ended up scoring 458 runs in the tournament, cementing his place in the Indian squad for the ICC World T20 Championships in the Caribbean. With his blistering 113 off just 59 balls against the Delhi Daredevils in 2012, he became the only Indian cricketer to have scored two tons in the history of IPL. A class performer, Vijay’s presence at the top of the order gives CSK the much needed security while fuelling an attack at the same time.
