Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers have made their way to Champions League Twenty20, 2013, by finishing as the two top teams of the Big Bash League.
Brisbane defeated Perth in the final by 34 runs to claim their maiden BBL title, and have earned themselves a CLT20 debut this season.
The Scorchers, who entered the BBL as favourites, finished in the second spot second year in row – last season they lost to the Sydney Sixers in the final. However, they have sealed a second consecutive CLT20 appearance.
The Scorchers, making their CLT20 debut in 2012, failed to get past the group stage and they will strive to use their last year’s experience to put up a better show in 2013.
Perth Scorchers’ Shaun Marsh finished as BBL’s most successful batsman with 412 runs at an average of 58.85, and Luke Pomersbach of Brisbane Heat came in second with 397 runs.
Brisbane’s 25-year-old pacer Ben Cutting took 13 wickets, while Scorchers’ old warhorse Alfonso Thomas picked up 12.
