Birt reprimanded for breach of code
Hurricanes batsman pulled out for hitting boundary signage
Cricket Australia has today advised that Hobart Hurricanes batsman Travis Birt has been reprimanded for breaching the Cricket Australia Code of Behaviour during his team’s KFC T20 Big Bash League match against Sydney Thunder at Blundstone Arena yesterday.
Birt was charged under the Code of Behaviour Rule 1.1 - Abuse cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings. The incident occurred when Birt hit the boundary marker/signage with his bat when leaving the field after being dismissed.
After play, Birt acknowledged his guilt and accepted the prescribed penalty of an official reprimand.
