The 12 participating teams will initially be divided into four groups of three teams each. Delhi Daredevils have been clubbed with Victorian Bushrangers of Australia and Wayamba of Sri Lanka. Delhi will host eight matches, including one semi-final, of the 23 matches to be played in the tournament. 12 domestic teams from 7 nations compete in the competition to be held in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru from October 8-23, 2009.
